I have a 40 gallon garden pond with a black moor goldfish in it I am trying to prepare a home for it in the winter. I only have a 1.5 gallon quarantine tank for my community fish can I keep her in there for the winter I can't afford to upgrade the tank though.

the 1.5 gallon has a internal filter powered by an air pump it came with an air pump for 2 gallons of water but I have a spair air pump I use in it that is for 180 gallons would that help with filtration.

I only need this for the winter

Could you not buy a large plastic tub or something cheap like that? I've heard of people using rubbermaid boxes for goldfish.

No. Not for any length of time is a 1.5g suitable for a goldfish, let alone a fish that will spend the entire winter in there. If you go to Walmart, you can get a plastic tub that holds 20-40g for around $20. Fill it up, slap on a $20 filter from Walmart and you're set for the winter.
