Hello, everyone! I have a Betta fish for almost 2 years his name is Pitus. I have been taking care of him very carefully. However, since 4 days ago I noticed he was not eating and his scales are in a pine tree form. I mean kind of up. Since, I noticed that I have been changing his water and using BettaFix and the liquid to adapt the water for Bettas. Today, he looks almost white is not eating and he has a hole in one side. I don´t know what else can I do? I don´t want to lose him :( Please someone help me... 20621855_1379042712203612_2449466570390425367_n.jpg 20597286_1379042715536945_5765439523737458861_n.jpg

Do you test you water? If you do what are the levels? What size tank is his in? Is his water warm?

I don´t know the levels exactly. However, the place where I put him right now is small because I read that is bad leaving him in his old place since is bigger. The water is in normal temperature around 25C-28C.

    Welcome to fishlore!

What tank size was he in?
What is the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in his tank?
    Does he have a filter?
Could you post a picture of his tank?
How often do you do water changes and how much water do you change?

Can you possibly take a pic of his tank so we can see?

The temps sound good. Do you use water conditioner?

I would totally try the salt. Measure it for each gallon.

Hi there. Unfortunately pineconning in bettas is almost always fatal. Its called dropsy and it means his kidneys are failing. How big was the tank he lived in, and how long have you had him that cup?

The only med said to be able to treat dropsy is Kanamycin, with variying success rate in some fish, and unfortunately none in bettas that I know.

The tank was one of 2 gallons. I have him in the small container since I noticed the symptoms. However, I have been changing his water and taking care of him..
So, there is not a chance to survive?
