Hi guys. I ordered all the aquarium plants I need today, I researched a lot but still have some questions about aquarium plants.

1. I will be adding thrive fertilizer once a week when I do my weekly WC's will that be enough? This tank is low-tech and it will house:

1 Tiger Lotus Lily
3 large Marimo moss balls
1 Anubias Barteri
1 anubias nana golden
1 dwarf sag
1 Crypt Wendtii Green Pot
1 Bucephalandra Buce Green Wavy
2 Anubias Nana Petite
1 Anubias Coffeefolia
2 anubias gold coin leaf

2. How often should I add root tabs? 3 months?

Any answers will be welcome!

Once a week should be plenty with the fertilizer! Root tabs are trickier, I know three months is recommended by some but I think it can depend on your tanks stocking, the fuller the stocking the less often you'll need to replace them if you're dosing with thrive. Your plant list sounds beautiful though!

Given you only have one (pot?) of dwarf sag and one crypt your plants will probably take very little from the root tab so one will probably last a long time. I’d just put one in and watch and see if its growth slows or shows any deficiencies before adding another, but no sooner than 3 months or you risk causing a nutrient spike causing algae, fish problems, or burns on the plants.

Thank you! So, it really depends and I will have to test it out.

One plant of dwarf sag. Will adding one root tab under each (just the dwarf sag and crypt) plant every 3-4 months be enough

The thrive dosage will be fine. I would say adding root tabs every 6 months would be good since the only root feeders you have are Dwarf Sag, Crypt Wendtii, and the Tiger Lotus Lily (correct me if I'm wrong).

Yeah, a single dwarf sag is very small, they are typically kept in large groups as a low tech carpeting plant. I might just put one root tab between the crypt and the dwarf sag to share, that way the dwarf sag will try to spread near it and you’ll get better growth

It's not a single dwarf sag, its a single order which is a group of 5 (or more if Marcus chooses to give you extra).

Ah, I see. For some reason I was imagining the dwarf sag pots our LFS sells with only one plant haha. But that would certainly make a lot more sense.

No he grows them in like an 800g tank and then just pulls the plants and ships them bare root.

I thought when I order 1 dwarf sag I will get a big huge clump, like 5-10. IDK why I was thinking that, lol. Anyway, a good idea about the root tab. I will def do that cause' I want the dwarf sag to carpet.
