I Need Help! How Much Is Too Much?!?

So I have 2 penguin 350 and I am trying to cycle the tank added waaaay to much food. The tank has been cloudy for days (almost opaque) with good and the filter insets are clogged up with food. The water is flowing over the insets so I am losing filtration ability but I am scared to replace. I have tried to wash in Aq water but they are still clogged.

I was thinking to add a 3-4 stage in the penguins instead of the stupid insertsSponges, ceramic, carbon, polisher. I am also installing 4 spong filters in the tank. They are small and rates for 20-40 gallons.
In addition to all this I am adding a SunSun 90g uv filter.

I just don’t want to ruin the cycle I have created. Any help is welcome!!!

Should I just put he old filter floss in the botton of the hob and he new stuff on top. I am also scared of parasites or other bad things growing in the tank. I don’t want to add fish unless I can be sure it’s safe. What to do?

Dont mess with the filters until after the tank cycles. Do you have a test kit?

Yes. The cycle is coming along nicely. But I am worried about bad things aka dangerous bacteria or parasites growing because of all the food and the water isn’t filtering well. Some of it is following over and around the insets.

Unless you introduce some bad bacteria or parasites, they aren’t gunna just show up from food in the tank. If it’s really that gross, you can gently wash the pads off in tank water.

Awesome!! Thank you for that. I feel much more comfortable.
Another question. What do you think about all that filtration. Too much? This is my first big tank and I think I am being paranoid but I really just want safe fish lol.
