I was never fond of skirt tetras to start with. Not much personality, nippy, mean. I was never fond of Glofish and their incredibly garish colors. I can now say for sure that combining the two make them infinitely worse in every way. Now I have 3 butt-ugly, nippy, mean skirt tetras that one of my family members bought on a whI'm and plopped in my tank.
They do nothing but chase eachother around all day and bully my other fish out of their meals. The only reason they're still here is because the LFS's closed due to the virus, and I could use them as cycle fodder for a new tank in progress. Fishing them out of the planted tank they were in made me hate them even more, because not only are they fast swimmers, but the nasty tennis-ball green color lets them blend in with foliage. And I know, I just KNOW, getting them out of the tank once it's through cycling will be another nightmare because of all the driftwood decor.
These things are a mistake. I'm sure there are hardcore glofish tetra fans out there but I personally think they'd be better chopped into little bits for my crayfish.
