I miss my fish!!!

I have been out of town for a week, and have been really missing my fish! How have they been doing, have any of them died or gotten sick while I was away? Have my fry gotten bigger? Are there any new fry to find when I get home? Have my plants taken root and gotten bigger and healthy?

*sigh*

About 6 more hours and I will be home safe and sound, to check the water and filters and give them some love and attention. They have been fed by a friend every other day so all should be well. This is the first time I have had pets to come home to- it is neat! Perhaps I will have photos to take and new stories to tell with what antics they have been up to in my own week absence.

we relate.. we'd often think of how our little bettas, platys and corys were doing when we were in Denver 2 weeks.. and if a cup with a Betta in it weren't considered a bomb : , we would've brought one home from Denver to join the family.. and it was really nice to see them and talk to them when we got back.

Exactly!

I am home now and so so glad to see they are all still with me The cardinals have ick, and the plants have gone completely growth crazy- but in general not bad!

Hooray! I really didn't want to come home to having lost some.

the ick you can clear up with a couple weeks of keeping the tank at 82 or more and using Ich-Attack (made by Kordon) if you want. Glad they're all still with you.

I've taken some weekend trips since getting fish in January, but my boyfriend was still home with them. However, when we took off for a weekend together, thus leaving the fish home alone...I admit, I was worried and wondering about them. As soon as we got home, I made a beeline for the tank!

lol.. you need a webcam on the tanks. then you can check up on them from your cel.

You know I totally thought of that once I had already gone. I wonder if there are any really good aquarium cams out there- I would bet there are I joke about my tanks being screen savers, but if there was a webcam it could really be! Or we could watch other peoples tanks too!

Yeah, I have been trying the 82 degrees and various treatments and it just seems to hang on. It looks bad now because I was a bit wary with having my tank extra hot when I would be gone for a week- if the air conditioning couldn't keep up with the local heat I didn't want them to boil. So, now they are back with warm water, water changes daily, all that jazz. I feel so bad for the little guys, but cardinal tetras are fragile to begin with, I don't want to kill them with the medicines either.

the ick-attack would be good for them, then. it's organic and safe for all fish. it won't hurt the cycle and is herbal in nature. it smells as good as amquel+ but is an effective product.
