I'm thinking some algae isn't harmful just frowned upon? Or is all algae to be immediately scrubbed off?
I like the the green tint on the sides of my 10 Gallon!
I try to keep front clear and I do wc every 5-7 days with a partial vacuum every wc.
I also squeeze out one of my sponges on my dual filters every 3 to 4 weeks.
Is this algae harmful or helpful to my 3 adf, 2 snails and Gourami?

Not harmful at all. In fact it can help water conditions. Most just don't like the looks.

Algea is similar to plants on what it does. Uses nitrates for example. So most algea is actually beneficial. Some like black beard or staghorn not so much.

Not harmful at all, unless its growing on your plants or clogging you filter. If anything, it helps clean up the water.
Most people remove it because they don't like where it grown (usually on plants) lol
