I have photos of my gouramis, which are male and which are female?

So I added three new gourami's into a tank that previously only had two and after I gave my pleco an algae wafer the gourami's wanted to nibble at it too and blue murder broke loose. The gourami's fought each other relentlessly. Long story short I took the food out and am now trying to figure out which are male and which are female. Here are some photos of my gourami's which are the Pearl Gourami, Blue Dwarf Gourami, Oddball/Flame Orange Gourami, and Two Opaline Gourami's. I am pretty positive the orange gourami is a male but that's the only one i'm positive about because of its really pointed dorsal fin. If someone could help me identify the rest that would be clutch.

The photos of the blue dwarf gourami with a tad of orange at the back and middle is the same fish just different angles because that's the best I could do, the rest of the photos are different fish. I didn't add a photo of the flame orange gourami because that things fins are so pointy that they look like they could cut you therefore it's positively a male. Please help me identify these four other thanks.

Sourcing female DG is extremely difficult.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for that. However the 3rd opaline gourami is still a babyish gourami so I don't think we know for sure yet it could be male.

Sourcing female DG is extremely difficult.
What does this mean?

Also, how sure are you that this is accurate? like 100%?

You won't see them as much in any pet stores or LFS as they are pretty drab fish for many consumers. Pet stores/LFS will only sell males due to their bright coloration compared to females.

Dorsal fins. Long dorsal fins indicates male while a short dorsal fins is female.

I read that its the pointed dorsal fins that indicate its a male... and the rounded dorsal fins indicate that its a female. So I don't disagree with any of your assumptions on which are male/female except photo #1. On photo #1 that gourami's dorsal fin is more rounded than pointed. Am I wrong and how can you back it up?

It looks longer than the female. The dorsal fin may form a "point" as it matures.

Bro that gourami IS matured. Trust me the photo doesn't do it justice the thing is bigger than it looks. And of course the dorsal will be longer because its a bigger fish than the other baby opaline gourami. Trust me that gourami's dorsal should have formed a point by now if its was male.

You could say that maybe the dorsal on the baby opaline gourami may form a point and end up being male because it is still very much not mature yet. The thing is tiny still.

That they are. In the UK and Aus however it’s not necessarily easy but certainly not too difficult to fin females. That said powder blue females (the ones that aren’t silver) are really rare so I’m hoping to liv vicariously through others who may acquire one

I have a powder blue question mark at present. No one isquite sure whether it’s a male or female. Cross your fingers for me!

hahahaha same here. 1 is a female to me.

If you want a female why not of the silvery ones?

I know right? I just want to be 100% positive which ones are male and female and that one looks female to me. What about the rest of them which do you think they are? (the last two photos are the same fish by the way but just different angles)

I am 99,9% sure the DG's are both male. If it is the same fish both sides are male hahaha

oh I love the silvers -dont get me wrong. I find them more appealing than the males in many ways. I have six silver females at the moment.
