40 Gallon Tank I Have Coral In My Tank

A relative of mine gave me two boxes full of corals and a banded boxer shrimp. I just wanted to tell everyone how excited I am! The corals I have are: green/red/cyan/purple mushroom corals, 6 red acropora coral frags, 3 pieces of orange sponge, yellow colony polyp, orange zoanthid, green zoanthid, elegant moon polyp, and one that I'm not sure of- it looks like possibly a green polyp duncan or some sort of button coral? IT LOOKS GREAT (in my opinion). The coral went through about an 1 of movement from into the box then into the car then the car ride (smooth) and into the house and then into the tank. About how long do you think I should start seeing things like the colony polyp opening up, the acropora growing out, the sponge to start growing, the mushroom coral to start multiplying, the elegant moon polyp to open up etc? THANK YOU! And maybe you could look at my other posts? (just go to my account page and then to statistics and then to all posts and you can go from there!) THANK YOU, again.

I don't have the proper lighting and I would guess they don't sell the frags in the back and want to make them more money by having larger corals. They said they would sell the polyps to me but only if I have the proper lighting which I will buy as soon as I can. So they didn't sell it so me because they don't sell the frags in the back section where they have the Live Rock, Saltwater, and a frag tank I am guessing but I just asked pricec and they didn't give me frag prices.

at least they're wary about selling it to a customer who cannot house it, which is more than can be said about a certain LFS near me >_>

I am going and try to buy the light today. I already have a light fixture. I know, there is a sign that says, "We have the right to refuse service to anyone." and they say, "We can sell it to you it just won't live." They have very awesome store for saltwater. The place I go for freshwater has better deals but: Freshwater, and the place I go for equipment has the best deals I have ever seen. They even have a 10 gal long Saltwater setup for 55 dollars! I think it is marineland or odysea but that is an amazing deal. I want to go there today for a light and some background.

haha, have fun! here in the ukit is very hard to find a place that sells marine that is goood quailty,
there is a 'chain' called maidenhead aquatics, I know we're told to steer clear of chain shops, but maidenhead is the best, and also one of the only!

Wow I don't have any good stores that near by only the place that sells equipment and only sells equipment, they have everything. I am lucky here near the Pacific. I am going to go to the tide pools one day to see what's in there. Good Idea?

We need to stay on topic. Let's not hijack smileyfish's thread.
If you'd like to discuss anything other than that, please feel free to start a new thread.

I'm with pepe, where's the pics? We'd love to see them.

Very sorry, I usually PM or post a comment on their profile but I forgot .
Pete, I call that luck! I get a lot of stiff given to me I am even being given a filter but that will never happen to me. I saw someone got a fanworm in a live rock this is even better luck.
