65 Gallon Tank I have been having trouble with plants.

I have never really been able to keep plants alive in my tank except for a mother Amazon sword. But after I took all the baby plants from the mother sword it lost a lot of leaves and is now tiny and no longer growing anymore babies. But I had a hornwort looking plant and that died I also have valisneria which was growing but then stopped for a month or two and is now dying. The only things that seem good are the Ferns and the Amazon swords.
I just got new gouramis and I want places for them to hide and just more plants to help the astetic. The tank is Tall 65g kept at about 79 degrees Fahrenheit. What should I get that is cheap and would stay alive while looking nice and providing cover? Thanks for your input.
P.s. I dose Flourish by Seachem weekly but I am open to new suggestions. Also no CO2 too expensive

What is your lighting? You don't mention what you've got for a light, to me it sounds like not enough lighting.

Anubias and Java fern. Minimal requirements other than somewhat decent lighting and you can glue/tie them down to rocks or wood, or bury them in the substrate just be sure not to bury the entire rhizome or it will suffocate and rot. I would recommend getting a new light as using one that came with the tank is definitely the problem. I have the current satellite on 3 of my tanks and it grows a multitude of plants nicely so I would definitely recommend it.
