Ok so an update on Tomorrow's race card.
The two competitors are, Canada Post, who will be racing for the Ontario Bettas, and FedEx who'll be running for the Thailand imports. Both contestants are settled into their starting gates, Canada Post is starting from MISSISSAUGA Ontario, and FedEx is in ST CATHARINES, Ontario.

Oh Wait What's this! FedEx bolted out the gate early! He's bound and determined to make that Noon Tomorrow deadline and is already over 5 hours into the cross canada trip! Will Canada Post be able to catch up?

Stay tuned for more updates on this nerve wrenching competition!

lol that's everyone I'm so excited for my new kids it was worse then christmas last night. Past Midnight and I was absolutely WIRED! Woke up before my alarm (5am) and made it back across town to sit in my old apartment and wait
TigerFishy: WooHoo! someone else found the party

Race Update:
Canada Post is still sitting in MISSISSAUGA Ont. where it has been since 21:21 yesterday.
The "apparent" lead showed by FedEx yesterday turned out to be a catch-up run instead, as it now too is sitting in MISSISSAUGA Ont. having arrived there are 1:21 am this morning.
I suspect both competitors have some "leprochaun luck" up their sleeves since google maps has informed me that MISSISSAUGA Ont. is 2,212 km's away from me (as the crow flies) and driving time by car to get from there to here (without cutting through the US) is 1 day and 8 hours. Will they ride the rainbow or, more likely, sprout a pair of wings?
Stay tuned for more thrilling updates

The Race is still going...

FedEx has made it to Sasktoon! At 7:29 am it reached the local depot! FedEx now needs to make it's way through handling, then all that's left is the home stretch run thought the streets of saskatoon!
However Canada Post is still lagging behind in Missasagua... hopefully it's actually in transit because through FedEx's dust it's hard to tell if they're even left the gate yet!

Red, are you saying the USPS is not allowed to ship live fish? My PO knows exactly what's in the box and so does UPS when I use them....

BTW, I'm excited for you right now!

Thanks MM

I know that when I contacted FedEx, and UPS when I was looking to import the PK boy from you last march that they actually aren't allowed to. Canada Post didn't say know but they were rather confused about it at the same time.

FedEx has negotiated the obstacle course at the depot and is now out and running on the final stretch! The Thailand kids are out on the streets of Saskatoon now!!! OMG OMG OMG! <Excited happy dance!>

Ok so I've taken pics and (kinda) calmed down
Canada post just updated and apparently they're been on the truck here in Saskatoon and out for delivery since 10:21... but it's only 9:45 am Either way they should be here soon and and can take all the new kids home and get them settled into their new homes.

I should be fine to leave the ThaI kinds in their bags till Canada Post shows up right?

YAY Red, I've been waiting for someone to arrive, looks good so far, I'll be anxiously waiting for pics. Now remember I'm here in UK, so if you leave it too long I'll be in my bed :'( .

Haha only kidding, for your sanity, I hope the Canada Post kids are here soon and you FINALLY get them settled in. I say "For your sanity" because if you get too excited, I am no good at psychiatry to help you calm down and reclaI'm your senses! All I can offer is "Breathe, red, breathe" ROFL

ROFL It's a good thing I haven't had caffiene yet today because otherwise I'd be in serious trouble the way my heart is racing

Don't worry TigerFishy I'm resizing the first of the pics right now (ok so what a good sign that I'm an addict ) bit distracted because I keep wanting to go over and stare at them so be patient

I definitely would. Whatever CO2 is dissolved in that water right now is keeping ammonia less toxic. As soon as you open up the bags, pH will shoot up and make the ammonia more toxic as CO2 gases off. When I get shipments, I float the bags to temp match and drop them in the tank for that reason; I don't acclimate per se.

Just a thought.
