I Hate FedEX!

Two weeks ago I ordered some inverts from Live Aquaria. The order was shipped Monday and set for arrival by 3pm Tuesday. I went to work early on Tuesday just so I could be home and not worry about my critters sitting on my porch.

So all day long I'm tracking the order and around 11:15am Tuesday there's a scan saying my package is at a FedEX location about 50 miles away but still slated for 3pm. At 12:30pm there's another scan saying it arrived at my local FedEX center, about 7 miles away and still slated for 3pm delivery. You would think it's cool but there's a little notation on this scan saying the package arrived at that FedEX location after the delivery drivers left. It still said 3pm delivery. So I call FedEX and they confirm what I just said but said they still have someone and they will still deliver by 3pm. Awesome.

2:15pm and there's another scan saying my package couldn't go out due to incorrect address! At that point I got annoyed at myself thinking I put my PO BOX address as my delivery address and of course FedEX won't deliver to a PO BOX. I've made that mistake before. So again I call FedEX and tell them I'm going to get my package and to hold it because I don't want the package going out while I'm on my way there. (Like that would happen anyway. lol) So I get to the FedEx center and get my package. I noticed that I had my correct home address on the package so I have no idea where that incorrect address scan came from. I didn't have time to argue because at this point I still had a drive to get home through rush hour and I had livestock sitting in bags for a full day already. Luckily everything was OK when I got home and there were no problems.

I placed another Live Aquaria order over the weekend that shipped out on Monday and was slated for delivery by 3pm Tuesday. It was the same exact schedule as my last order. Since 1:18am today my package has been sitting in Memphis. I had hopes that maybe they missed a scan and that I'd still have my stuff today. Just about an hour ago I got a call from Live Aquaria informing me that FedEx screwed up and my package missed a plane. Seriously?! How could that possibly be? My last order arrived in Memphis at around 4am and had no problem making the next plane and this order arrived at 1:18am and missed the next plane?

I am beyond annoyed at this point. Not only that, but who knows how my critters are going to fare. I have some snails and coral but I also have 2 fish. I'm hoping for the best.

I contacted FedEx yesterday about my previous order and fully intend to rip them a new one about this order too!

Wow, way to go FedEx...I'd say that was an epic fail on their part. And the worst part is, is that if anything was doa then live aquaria would have to send it fed ex again.

I've had my share of problems with fedex. Packages have "disappeared" for days at a time. And for whatever reason, they feel the need to drive from somewhere west of here, to a small city 2 hours east of me, then drive it back. You would think they would take extra care of packages from liveaquaria since the package should be labeled in some way that lets people know live animals are inside. And it should also say that the package contains liquids. I think liquids have to be declared when shipping due to security concerns, especially since they have been used in attacks on cargo planes.

When I ordered from Arizona Aquatic UPS put my package on somebody else's porch! They realized it two hours later and bright it to me.

Are you sure UPS delivered it? The post office usually delivers anything from UPS.

No they don't.

I don't know the specifics, but for whatever reason the post office and UPS have some kind of working agreement. I am a mail man.

Everyday at about 2:30pm a UPS truck shows up at our loading dock with a hamper full of packages. Each of those packages says "UPS deliver to" and then it gives the address of our post office. The package also says "USPS deliver to" and then it has the actual street address of the recipient. Those packages are the delivered to the recipient the next day.

Maybe it's just me then, but it seems like everything I get that is shipped through UPS comes from the post office with my regular mail. Fedex trucks are the only delivery trucks I see regularly in my neighborhood. UPS only comes through about once a week at most.

Wow, my package finally arrived in my state at 11:30 last night but it's still not at my local fedex center. Let's hope they don't continue to screw things up.

Sorry to hear all that frustration.

I use USPS soley now. The Post Office knows what they are doing. I can ship anywhere in the US by Post Office Prioriy and so far it takes 2 days except Puerto Rico which makes it in 3 to 4 days.

Occasionally if I order something without a mail selection, then UPS or Fedex get it on time even if I use a PO Box. As mentioned above, they drop off any packages at our locak PO if I forget to use the street address.

I was told at our Post Office that USPS, UPS and FedEx share the planes also. You should be having no problems!!!

Shame on your local or distribution process!!!!!

Fed Ex isn't really going to care what you say, however, if you let the shipper know, and THEY contact Fed Ex about it, then Fed Ex will care. After all, ultimately the shipper is paying Fed Ex directly, not you.

I agree with Lynda. Let liveaqauria know about the problems. They send a lot of stuff everyday between liveaquaria and the foster and smith websites. Maybe then Fedex will straighten things out.

Hopefully you will get it today and all of your animals will be ok! But if it hasn't left that facility yet, you likely won't get it today, especially if it's several hours away. It takes them forever to get things through some of the facilities.

FedEx may or may not care, but the bottom line is that overnight shipping is guaranteed and if it's supposed to arrive by 3pm and it arrives at 3:01 then you are entitles to a full refund of your shipping cost. At this point I'm looking to retrieve the shipping on both purchases since they were both late.

Live Aquaria knows about the delay and in fact, they called me yesterday afternoon to alert me. Don't ask me how they knew, but they did.

I received the package today at 2:30pm. It should have arrived by 3pm yesterday. One of the fish didn't look so hot. I drip acclimated everything for an hour and a half and so far so good. Everything seems to be doing well so far but the jury is still out on the snails and coral. I can't say that everything survived yet but it looks promising.
