I am looking to get rid of this green algae stuff growing in my tank. I had to also get some assassin snails to get rid of the outbreak of rams horn snails from the plants I got from a local fish store. so hopefully whatever I have to do to get rid of the algae won't hurt the assassins :) any advice will help thank you

Do you have a picture of the algae

So I expect to see a tank with a very coarse substrate (small pebbles), very bright lights, a heater and a few plants.

So you have your solution ;)

Replace the pebbles with sand, dim the lights, ditch the heater (probably), and as far as the plants are concerned... this would require some discussion.

I'm happy I get paid for this.

no heater, just everything else. I was having trouble finding good sand so I bought the crappy sand from the fish dealer up the road. I guess I can grab some white sand from the beach and boil it. thx for that, and as far as the plants go I have micro sward narrow leaf that's not doing too well, Lutea that seems happy, and a Dwarf four-leaf clover that's looking sad

I was implying it happens a lot.

Fixable... is probably the wrong word. ;) You will see. I'll stay out of this, I am a specialist in other things. Ruud knows what to do.

Easily fixable, of course.

I'm doing my best to have lots of green algae in my new river scape. It's not as easy as I thought it would be :)
