I think I got mine off when I was around 13-14, I'm 20 now and my teeth still move slightly if I don't wear them. I actually didn't wear them for about a year and when I put my retainer in, I almost couldn't get it off because it was so tight from me not wearing it and my teeth moving lol.Now to move onto contacts
But seriously wow, 3 yrs.? I don’t think I’ve had mine for that long. I haven’t worn my retainers in many yrs. either. Still have beautiful teeth.
As you get older, you’ll probably get progressively less diligent. But you’re right; teeth do move, which is why we’re given retainers in the first place. I’m sure mine isn’t the same, as when I’ve first taken my braces off, but for the most part, I think they still remain in their proper order, lol. Honestly, I don’t even know where my retainer is.I think I got mine off when I was around 13-14, I'm 20 now and my teeth still move slightly if I don't wear them. Congrats!
Enjoy your gum now!

They feel so good now, I can finally eat some gum!
My grandfather had a accounting client who was in his 90's when I got to know him--had fought in WWI--and had PERFECT teeth. Never had a cavity, never needed braces, hadn't been to the dentist in 50 years. Some people just have the right genes/environment The rest of us...*sighs*Wow I have sympathy for you guys and gals that have/had braces. I was blessed with not having to need them when I was young.
I'm an old geezer now, lol, and I still have all my teeth and they're still straight.
Congrats and enjoy that gum!
