While at Petsmart today I peeked in their snail tank (like I always do, can't help myself) and they had two blue mystery snails FINALLY!

One was floating and the other was sealed up tight on the bottom, their water was atrocious. I went ahead and got them both since they're the only color I'm missing from my extensive collection and neither of them smelled.

It's now been almost 5 hours with them in a floating breeder and one finally came out and is munching on his green bean the other is still floating. Some of my gold babies decided to invade the breeder and help nom the green beans, of course, lol.

Wow that's a great find ! I hope they stay healthy and you have them breed so you can have more to your collection

I'm also hoping they'll breed and give me some blue babies, it's the only color that my girls don't seem to produce yet. Fingers crossed! At least it looks like one of them is healthy, he's just chowing down on his green bean. Sadly it's probably the first real vegetable the poor thing has gotten. I'm keeping an eye on the other one to see if there's any signs of life. If the floater doesn't make it I'll have to check the other petsmart in town Mr/ms floaty is sealed up tight even when shaken lightly so it's alive right now. ....we shall see......

I see blues at the Petsmarts near me. With us both being in the Midwest I would think you would see them down there. At least from time to time.

Not once until today had a seen them anywhere here, neither of the two petsmarts, two petcos, or the small lfs I go to. I've only ever found one magenta too (whom I bought, of course). We're the largest city in Kansas, you'd think with all our stores we'd have a better selection. ....

I'm jealous! We never get the green ones here either.

Update: The lively one (I've taken to calling him/her Ash, or Asher) has been liberated in the main tank! He/she's cruising around looking perfectly content and at home
Floaty (I'll give it a better name if it lives) is still floating in the breeder.... :/

Congrats on your blue mystery snails. I hope they both make it. I didn't know they came in a green color as well? Alison

They are often referred to as emerald as well.

Floaty is no more I'm pretty sure the poor little guy was a goner when I got him but I figured I'd get him anyway just in case. Now to track down another blue. ....

Ash is still going strong btw, so at least I got to rescue one little fella from the putrid toad water.

They're actually pretty easy to ship. I'd take you up on that but after the cost of the snails and shipping it would be around 15$, that's a little more than I'm able to pay for 2 snails atm, lol. Thank you though! I'll do some scouting around town, maybe I'll get lucky and someone else will have some.
