I have a magnum 350 and just got a micron cartridge for it. I just realized that the media basket and micron filter use different center tubes (cores) and wondered if you all thought it would work without the core?

Sorry, I don't have that filter. Maybe someone else will come along who does.

Hello Monmouth,

I only have the HOT 250 magnum and it uses the same core for the media basket and the micron cartridge. My best suggestion would be to try it an see. If you do, please let us know the out come.

Here is a link where you could possibly order the part that you need?

Thanks. Wish I could help you more.

Ken

I'm gonna give it a try today or tomorrow. doesn't sell the part I need. There is a LFS about an hour away that might and you can order it directly from marineland.

The core for the micron filter is identical to that of the media basket, only shorter. I'd suspect it would work until you were able to locate the proper part. FYI - the core is required to stop the micron cartridge from collapsing on itself and damaging the paper pleats.
