I Cracked A Tank!

So I was at my local fish store and there was a free pile with a FISH TANK SET UP! I swooped on it and took it home. Cleaned out the things that I didn't need, and took the things I wanted away and began cleaning. I dumped the old gravel out as it was dirty and I set the tank down and It landed on the thermometer. I set it down gentle too. It cracked the bottom. It still holds water. It is a ten gallon. I am sooooo sad, but at least I got a filter and a light and some decorations. Is there anything that I can still do with it, could I put my hermit crabs in there and use their ten gallon for fish? IDK so please help me.

Don't put water in it, Hermit crabs would be ok IMO though.

If its not too bad you could silicon a new piece of glass over the whole bottom.

Go to lowes or something, buy a pane of glass (and have them cut it), then just silicone the glass to the bottom of the tank where the crack is.

At Lowes the glass and silicone will cost more than the new tank, $14.99 10 gal. Walmart.

Well scratch that idea. Chuck it and get another.

I just used Silicone on my cracked tank and it doesn't leak

I think I would spend $15 and not have to clean up a mess or have a tank I worry about.

The glass on a lot of tens is so thin that siliconing is risky. Even a 15 has better glass here.

I agree fix it right or trash it. Or for none water use.

The spider must have gotten in through the crack in the glass.
