Hyper Plakat Betta?

Hello everyone, I got this koi plakat on March 29, he came in cup. During the first week he was glass surfing all over the left side of the tank, never flared at the tank wall, ate fine, and was super interactive. I did have to do water changes every day because I added in a snail, little did I know it like...died on the way home or something. So when I took him out I had a little ammonia but that has settled. I moved him to my bedroom on Thursday or Friday. He's stopped glass surfing on the left side as much but now does it on the front. He's still eating fine, still interactive. I've only had a halfmoon before this, so I'm used to slow moving fish that rest quite a bit. Is this normal for a plakat?
It's a 20 gallon long, two nerite snails (got another one, he's very alive lol), and some java fern. I'm currently seeding a bigger sponge for this filter but I still have enough of the old bacteria to keep the cycle. My parameters yesterday were: Nitrite-0 Nitrate-5 Ammonia-0 I did a water change after taking those tests yesterday.
Here is a video:
Any ideas? I've tried adding some old silk plants I had from the last betta to this tank but it didn't really do anything when he was glass surfing on the left side, I have my bedroom lamp on a timer so it turns on when his tank light does so he doesn't have a reflection, and even with the tank light off he still does it.

That’s normal, he’s not scratching on anything right? If he is then we might have a problem, but no, he just sounds exited about his new home. He might chill out after awhile, or he might not, just his personality. He’s pretty!

Plakats will definitely move much more and faster than a longer-finned betta. Same thing with females. Seems normal!

I just got picked up a Betta this weekend that’s somewhere in between plakat and half moon fin lengths. I think he’s a delta and he’s almost just as zippy as yours. They get around without all the luxurious weight their heavier finned relatives have. I bet he’s having the time of his life in that 20 long after being cooped up in 8oz of water for so long! Sounds totally normal. I’ve noticed the plakats are very zippy since they don’t have all that drag from large fins.

Wow these were some fast responses! Thank you!
No he isn't scratching or anything, sometimes he bumps into the leaf touching the glass though lol kinda scares himself.
Glad to know this is normal, this is my second betta and I swore to myself I would get a koi plakat no matter what...after having a halfmoon for so long I was scared something was wrong with him.

Also sorry for the tank looking so bare, trying to get the java fern to grow good.
