OK, I'm not sure where they came from, but I noticed I'm getting a lot of Hydra on the glass of my tank. I didn't know what they were at first, but when I looked with a magnifying glass they were definitely hydra. I'm not sure what to do about this, are they harmful? And if so, how do I get rid of them? Most of all, where do they come from????

The article in the above post is great.
Did you put anything in from a wild source? Even half a hydra can eventually populate an aquarium, as they can regrow bodies and reproduce asexually.
Otherwise, it sounds like snails or other slow moving bottom critters (perhaps the pleco) would be the source.
