So I noticed the past few days that one of my adult female guppies is starting to develop a hunchback and it seems like she can’t swim very well. My water parameters are good and none of the other fish are sick. Seems like it’s getting worse ): anyone know what’s going on?

Maybe due to stress, not enough light, poor food quality, or just a genetic defect.

What are you feeding them? (and how old is the food)

Is your light on for enough hours?

Is she being bullied or chased?

Did she come from a reputable breeder?

On a side note, She is the exact same colour as my guppy

Just noticed her tail is a bit tattered too.

Does it have a white edge to it? Are any of the other fish like that?

She came from Petco a few months ago. Lights are on for about 8 hours. They are fed aqueon flakes and hikarI fancy guppy pellets, sometimes peas too. The males chase them sometimes but I have seen aggression.

Ah, I don't know how good petco is because we don't have any in my country! Would need a second opinion on that.

Try upping the light time to 10/12 hours and see what that does. Is there any way they could see sunlight from their tank position?

Food sounds fine.

If you're seeing aggression, that could well be it! Is she hiding at all or listlessly floating?

She's also looking quite skinny for a girl, does she eat enough?

It’s hard to tell because there are so many little fish eating at once during feeding time. She seems like she’s been eating though.

Maybe separate her from the main group and see is symptoms improve?
