How will the bright Christmas lights affect my betta?

Hellooooo! So we put up Christmas lights tonight's and I certainly underestimated how bright they would be! I have blackout curtains and blinds. You'd think they would block out all the light, right? Wrong! It's super bright in my room tonight, I don't even think I'll be getting much sleep, how is this going to affect my betta? I have nowhere to move him and I'm scared he'll lose too much sleep since we don't plan on taking the lights down until late January. The light pretty much directly hits him. Maybe I'm being a bit over dramatic and the lights aren't as bright as they seem to me, but I'm not sure. It seriously looks like the sun is coming out and I'm not entirely sure of what I need to do since I don't really have any options other than to just see how he deals with the lights. Again, do you think this will affect him too much?

I can't picture it in my head so I cant even give you my opinion on whether or not it is a problem. It is best for fish and humans, to have a day-night cycle. I was just watching someone trying to block window light with aluminum foil, maybe that could work for you, foil or cardboard over the window or around the tank., or put a blanket over the tank for him, a sleep mask for you.

I cover my tanks at night with a towel because we have so many night lights around the living room. If you want to do this, just be careful not to let the towel, or the tips of the towel, drop/dip into the tank. I did that once, and the towel soaked up some of the water and created a real mess, lol!!! :)

I'll do this haha! I forgot about my sleep mask. Wish I would have thought of that before I attempted to have a restful night lol, but I'll put a blanket or towel over him

Sounds like a great idea! I'll try not to make that mistakes, sounds like a pain to clean up!

I was moments away from doing that with the drape I used to decorate the tank for Halloween! it was soaked through but not quite dripping to the floor.

Solved the problem! Turns out it was as simple as telling my dad I couldn't sleep and he said he'd just unplug everything before we all try and rest cuz he couldn't sleep either ;)

Almost haha! We actually have a Clark Griswold inflatable that's directly in the center of our yard

Agree with Star Girl, as a volunteer firefighter, I would always recommend turning off tree lights when you’re not there and awake. Last Christmas we responded to a dwelling on fire due to a tree fire, three of five family members lost their lives. It was kind of a bum Christmas for all of us.

Yeah, my dad served for 15 years as a firefighter and unfortunately that's something that happens a lot around here.. it's so sad ):
