I am fansiciated by this filter feeder shrimp and I am very interested in breeding them in house, although it is reported to be near impossible. But I already set up a breeding tank for Amano shrimps, so why not give it a try?
My LFS rarely sells this shrimp, but whenever I see one, it seems always to be a female. Is this shrimp female population biased or what? I already have two adult females, so I asked my LFS to get some new bamboo shrimps for me. Today I receive two juveniles, less than 2 inches. Their legs are almost equal in thickness. Information online is very limited for this particular species, especially for their juveniles. Is there any other feature by which I can tell the sex? I really hope at least one of them is a male.
Pictures are not available now, but I can update when they are comfortable in the new environment and not hiding.
Thanks.
