How to tell if my Christmas moss really is??

I bought this moss as Christmas moss on eBay. I also received some Java moss from a different person and the two are noticeably different. However, I've seen pictures of Christmas moss online and it is very green. Mine is not. How can I tell if what I have really is Christmas moss?

 

The easiest way is to compare the fronds with known accurate pictures. Here's the only one that has a good close-up shot that supposedly is correct. The light and nutrients may play a role in how bright the moss is, and it is possible that the pictures are edited. The old growth on my mosses tend to be darker than the pictures, but they are healthy and grow well.

 

I found that site when I was googling, I assume the photos (the second row--2 photos) are extremely close-range?

 

Yeah, those were the closest pictures I could find of it. From far away it kinda looks like a few different mosses.

 

Post a pic ad maybe it can be id'd by someone. As for how green it is it might not look so hot due to shipping and adjustment to a new tank, lighting, and nutrients. And of course they use their best pictures to sell plants, it's usually not the actual pant being shipped.

 

I will have to wait until tomorrow unless I've got a pic that has it in there. I will check.

Edit to add that it looks pretty green in these pictures, but this is my son's 10 gallon tank. The stuff in my 45 gallon tank is very dark green and looks ugly
