How to tell if Molly or Platy are pregnant?

I have bought 2 female platies,1 male platy, 1 black lyretail molly and 1 female balloon molly.
How can I tell if the females are pregnant? Since they came from a tank filled with mixed genders so I bet the females are all preggo
Do they get a gravid spot like guppies?
Especially, how do I tell if my balloon molly is pregnant? She is quite round like she's supposed to be ;D
The balloon molly does hide behind some plants sometimes but then she comes back to the others.
My females platies are not round like pregnant guppies are.
Thanks in advance!

I don't see any gravid spots but sometimes on the mollies and platies it isn't easily visible so they still may be pregnant...

the balloon molly looks like she may be pregnant, I believe I see a bit of a gravid spot, if the back of the fish's belly continues to darken, shes probably pregnant.

The platies look like they are light enough of a color that you could see a gravid spot, but I don't really see one on either, their bellies look pretty slI'm as well so I don't think they are pregnant

I can never tell with balloon mollies. Those platys don't look pregnant to me. They may or may not get gravid spots: my orange Mickey Mouse platy and my silver lyretail Molly did not. You think I'd see it on a white fish but no.

Balloon molly looks pregnant, but not very far yet prob 2 or so weeks to go. Orange platy is either pregnant or overfed, probably 3-4weeks to go. Best way to find out is wait another week and see how their stomachs develop. The balloon molly will look unbelievable fat when she's ready to birth. You'll most likely wonder how she is alive and swimming! (I always think that when my mollies are pregnant. I wonder if they will pop :3)

You can try not feeding for a day or two so they slI'm down, but if they ARE pregnant and you want to keep the fry it won't be good for them.

its a lot more difficult to tell with balloon mollies, mainly because they are already fat! with platies, they become fat, very fat, they do develop a gravid spot and sometimes behave diferentley. the answer to your first question, the males develop a pointy analfin, like a spike. the "gonopodium" is usually about 1.5mm fat.
