How To Set Up Brackish?

Hey all, so I recently bought a 55 gallon and wanted to make it a puffer tank. I have heard about brackish tanks, but was wondering what kind of supplies I would need to get started. Also do plants have any influence in brackish water? I was thinking f8 puffers, but also open to suggestions. Thanks!

It's somewhere in between fresh and salt and so is the equipment. You can get away with not using a sump, but would benefit from a protien skimmer. Or vice versa. Plants are always helpful even in full marine, but you would have to look up which types can handle salt long term, since some won't handle it at all. You would need marine tests like specific gravity but not freshwater tests like gh.
