How to sanitize a python

Hello everyone!

Just wondering what is the best way to go about sanitizing/cleaning my python? It is a 50 ft. What do I use for chemicals if any? And how to I get the water to sit in the house to help clean it up.

Thanks

What do you mean by sanitize? Is it gunky or just a hardwater build-up.

I've honestly never cleaned mine. I always just lift it hand over hand until all the water is drained out, and then I store is in a tub in the closet.

Vinegar would be safe to use. As would some diluted bleach/water solution. Not sure how to get it in the python, besides pouring it in one end and "walking" it down the line....

As iloveengl said you could use a bleach and water solution.

I just hang mine up and let it dry.

I always run the water out of it as well and hang, but I have noticed that there are few spots that seem to have mold on then in the hose. I am thinking that a few water droples must have stayed in a few times and where they sat I now see what I think is mold.(black)

So I wanted to soak it with something that might take that off, but not sure how I will get the solution in and make it stay?

Block off one end with something- maybe balled up plastic wrap or tin foil (not sure if it will hold water but you get the idea) and then try to put some water in and drop some vinegar (safer bet) or bleach in and block up the other end with something and use hot water.

I have never done it but I'm sure you could find something to block the ends to make it work- laying it flat in the tub would be your least messy way.
