How To Remove Chlorine From Water

HI all
How can I remove chlorine from water for my fish tank without having to buy dechlorine stuff?
I used to use tetra aqua safe. But today the bottle was empty
Ideas?
Heard that leaving water in open bucket for 24 h will do ?

 

yup. chlorine should evaporate in 24 hours. i'd probably go out and buy some more dechlorinator as soon as you can though, to make water changes easier.

 

Chloramine cannot be removed by letting the water sit, check if you have that in your tap water. UV light neutralizes chloramine, so you can try exposing it to direct sun for a day.

 

I would leave it sit for 24hrs with a bubbler
