How to quickly cure ich

Hi guys, is there anyway to quickly cure ich and what steps to go about doing it? I sadly have seen ich show its ugly face again today on a couple of my fish! Its really disheartening. I've only had to deal with ich since I first got the tank. It took me a good maybe, couple months to cure or so. I haven't seen it ever again until technically yesterday. What should I do? I still have my ich curing treatment from when I first had it. I have removed my carbon filter and have already added in aquarium salt plus herbtania. Anything else I should be doing?

I personally prefer to stick to more natural methods but just raising the water temp. Raise it up to 85-86 degrees F, go up a couple degrees an hour. Keep the temp up for about 10 days. After a couple days do a really good gravel vac and do it again a couple days later.

Bump the heat up to 86 - 87 degrees & keep it there for at least 10 days. Gravel vac every other day, changing out 15% - 25% of the water. Unless the Ick outbreak is advanced, this should take care of it.

What about the other fish in the meantime that don't have ich? Will they be alright by me turning the heat up that high?

They should be, if one has ich most likely they all do (or will) they just aren't showing signs yet.

Any chance you could post a pic of any of the diseased fish?

You ask for a quick cure. You have already put your fish through months of parasite infestation.
In my opinion by using a low grade herbal remedy you have prolonged the agony of having parasites sucking the life out of your fish.

As you ask for a quick cure for goodness sake treat the fish with a medication containing malachit’s green as soon as possible. Following the instructions should have your fish back in clean water soon.

Raising the temperature of the water no longer kills all strains of ich ( Australian climate) it does however speed up the life cycle of ich meaning the medication can be removed sooner.

That’s a pretty Advanced state of infestation. If the fish dies it won’t be the medication that killed it.

Doing multiple gravel vacuuming is often recommended on the instructions of proper medication.

So what kind of medication should I be using to help cure the ich?

You'll have to see what meds are available to you or can be shipped to you from another country. Much of what was available a year and a half ago has been pulled from retailers.

Is herbtania & aquarium salt good for getting rid of ich? That's what my local PetCo person recommended to me when I called them

Label suggest using alone:

Product Description
Microbe-Lift Herbtana Parasite Treatments are a 100% all natural and chemical-free parasitic disease treatment for white spot (ich), Costia, Flukes (gill & skin), Trichondia, Chilodonella and Oodinium on fish. During treatment, parasites can not return to the host which starves them; thus, killing off the disease entirely. This treatment is also recommended to use when adding fish into any new aquatic environment as it contains an immune-enhancing stimulant to protect them from attracting these parasitic diseases. This particular treatment is suitable for freshwater environments only.

Protect your aquatic environment from potential life-threatening parasitic diseases before they spread from one fish to another for a happy, healthy and successful aquarium.

Warnings

Do not use on fish intended for human consumption, with other medications/treatments or algaecides and copper based products. Keep out of eyes and reach of children.
