How to protect floating plants from the ‘rain’

I just ordered some floating plants and then realized my setup might kill them.
I have a simple glass lid under my LED lights. Just plates of glass resting on the top of the tank with a simple handle and hinge so it can be opened.
Water condenses onto the lid and 'rains' back down into the tank. If I am not mistaken this sort of raining under an LED can kill Red Root Floaters so... I need a solution for that.
Any ideas for how to adjust the lid to protect my floaters?

My glass lid does the same thing with all of the condensation. Short of drilling a bunch of holes in it I’m not sure what you could do. I feel like holes wouldn’t even be effective unless there are an awful lot

Thanks, off the top of my head I was thinking raising the center of the lid. Should've included that detail, it is technically two lids and my tank has a center bit that holds them up. Raise them in the center and the water should roll down the slope rather than drip, right?

The lid serves two purposes:
1) Lessens water loss due to evaporation
2) Keeps dog hair out of the water.
