How to prevent Java fern turning brown

Im going to buy a java fern and I know these plants will turn brown in bright light. My tank lighting is 50 watts, and I always turn it on 12 hours a day. can someone help me with how I can prevent them from turning brown under bright light?

 

Many plants such as cryptocorynes will turn brown or red under high light. But, in my experience, java ferns stay green.

But, in my experience, java ferns stay green.my Crypts love low and bright light but when I bought a Java fern and keep under Low light (20 watts) it turned brown, well, my LED is left on for about 32 hours which is a bad idea and I think it could have killed the java fern.

oh by the way, how many watts is your LED, and how many hours do you leave it on? the seller told me that they leave their LED on for 10 hours under 13 watts. but Im interested in hearing about yours.

I don't know how many watts it is, but I have the SBReef 45" LED light on my tank. This thing cranks out the light, and I have it at 100% intensity for 8hrs/day. My java ferns are still green.

OK then. I will do some kind of trial and error here. I will put 1 java fern cluster in my tank and leave the light on for 8 hours and the other java fern will stay in a bucket.
