Hi, I need to make a DIY divider with home items as I discovered that my betta had been biting my ember tetras' tails. My tank is having an ich problem I need to 1) make a divider or 2) take the risk and dose the small 2g quarantine tank the betta is currently in(the dose is 1 drop per 10l). I chose to make a divider but I can't go out to buy materials so what should I do?

Would be helpful if people had an idea what you do have around home materials wise.

There's a sticky in the "betta" forum for a diy divider. A great one to sink into a full tank is knitting mesh, sponge filter material works too. If you have a ton of patience a couple 2 litter bottles could be cut, flattened, joined together and poked full of holes with a hot pin/tack. How handy are you?

I also do agree with BigManAquatics , I love to go all macgyver, but we really don't know what you have in your home to tear apart.

What kinds of material should I list?

Would it work if I use cling film to divide the tank?

I have a nearby fish shop that I can visit. Maybe i can get some sponge filter material. How do I go to the betta forum?

Betta Fish Forum

To navigate the forums on mobile portrait view, click the menu icon on the top left, then click on "aquarium forum"; to navigate on mobile in landscape click on "aquarium forum".

The forum flow to get to betta would be aquarium forum>Freshwater Fish and Invertebrates>freshwater fish>betta fish.

I find some things navigating like this that don't turn up in search as allot of the stickies are older and get run over by newer postings.

Enjoy the new super power, don't forget to sleep tonight ;) .

You can make a needlepoint craft mesh divider. They usually tell you to use binder clips to support the sides, but I can never find those. You can sew a U shaped wall/cage/barrier of craft mesh, you can support it by adding a bottom section of craft mesh. You may want to add suction cups to help hold it in place.
