How to ignore another member

Hopefully this feature isn't used very often but there may come a time where you want to ignore another member.

When you ignore someone you won't see their content, threads and posts. Nothing will show in the "what's new" section for members you are ignoring and you won't see their replies when reading threads.

Here is how to ignore another member:

On any post made by the person you want to ignore, click on their name and then click on the ignore button on the member pop-up:



If you want to stop ignoring someone, click your name at the top of any forum page and then click the "ignoring" button in the pop-up:



This loads a page that shows a list of members you are ignoring. You can un-ignore them from that page.

 

I don't see me ever using this feature but it is nice to have the knowledge!

 

What happens if someone you’re ignoring quotes your post? Do you see it or no? Can the person you’re ignoring still see your posts?

 

Members I like to ignore normally disappear on their own after a few months. Kind of funny how that works.

I haven't ignored anyone yet. There's been one or two I thought about, but I felt obligated to keep seeing the posts so I could correct the horrible advice being given out (like putting nails in a tank if plants needed iron).

I have ignored some, but they seem all to have left the building.over the years (ot last months). Mainly people that will start a discussion, being rude / offensive and then start moaning they are treated sooooo badly.

 

What did Jonez and miketest3 ever do to deserve this?

 

I get posts edited for Saturday afternoon cartoon language Can’t imagine what it takes to get put on ignore here :lol: I imagine most users would be banned well before then (serious kudos to the moderation team here)
