How to get rid of persistent slimey algae

I have this weird slimey algae that formed in the crevices of my heater from algae wafers. its very persistent and I think it brings worms? I scrubbed it in hot water with a pipe cleaner and its back two days later, why? I only give my fish enough food to eat in like 3 seconds and I clean the tank like twice a week. I no longer put algae wafers in the tank, I only have a betta in my 10 gallon at the moment. how can I get rid of that algae and where is the detritus worms coming from? the betta food or the algae wafers? I know they come out because of excess waste but where Is their primary source?? thank you.

2 things will help increase algae -good flow of oxygen and heat. thus you need to reduce flow an temp.
if you can keep temp around 28 or lower, and dotn have too much circulation, it will help reduce algae. ( regards to the circulation, i have tried have an extra power head to move water around the tank and the result was more algae. situation is better after i removed the extra power head)
recently i bought a cooling fan for my shrimp tank and temp is now avg 27-28 instead of 29-30...its just 1 degree but i can tell you i am seeng alot less algae...the green algae on some of the ornaments even disappear without me cleaning.

okay, I'll definitely look into that thank you. I cleaned the ornaments that it had it on with vinegar/water bc I don't own bleach or peroxide haha. I made sure to rinse a lot before putting it back in th tank. I hope that's okay.
