How To Feed My Gourami Fry While Gone On Work Trip

Hey all,

I have been called out on a work trip and I am not sure how to feed my 1 1/2 week old Honey Gourami fry while I'm gone. Right now they are eating Infusoria but I was about to switch then to BBS. I think they are just about big enough. I'm leaving in 1 day and will be gone for 4.

I have a friend that is going to feed them while I'm gone but I need something that will be easy for her to feed. She is not a fish keeper and I'm worried about over feeding or fouling the water. There will be no water change while I'm gone.

Would frozen BBS be a good option?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks!

Would they already eat crushed / powdered flakes? That would be the easiest. Or get decapsulated brineshrimp-egg (those need to be soaked first) but you can make portions to do so.

I have not tried anything other than infusoria. I will try a few things today!

I don't have much experience with this, all I can recommend it making sure that each day's portion is already measured, and duble or triple checking that she knows not to overfeed.

I will have to see if they will take the crushed flake and how much to feed them. Not sure how much will be over feeding if I'm not here to monitor

Well just got back from my trip. I found about three dead ones on the bottom and 2 that look like they are struggling. But counted 7 that considerably bigger than the dead/ struggling ones. I rigged up a siphon for the infusoria to drip while I was gone but it stopped dripping and they only got about 1/3 of the food.

I think the dead ones didn't get enough to eat seeing how they are so much smaller.

Doing a small water change. Hopefully that doesn't kill the rest.
