How to euthanize goldfish without clove oil

Is there any other way to euthanize a goldfish without clove oil? My gold fish isn't doing so well anymore. He has swim bladder and I have him for about a year and a half and he was doing great! But just this past month he has been not doing well at all. He's not eating or swimming much and just floating upside down and I feel like he's suffering and it makes me really sad to see. And I don't want him suffering anymore

Could clove powder be an option? Or is it not strong enough and will cause more harm?

I wouldn't want my fish suffering either but I would also want him to die in peace. It's up to you. I don't know how to euthanize fish, I've never done it. I don't want this to sound morbid but The only thing I thought of was to decapitate him I'm sorry. I actually did a bit of research for you and ppl actually decapitate fish as a humane way to euthanize them

Swimming upside down and not eating much could be a lot of different things, the first thing that pops into my mind is swim bladder issues. There are various okay hung it could be each with various treatment options, so I don’t think you should euthanize right now(based off what you said). You should start a great and fill out the emergency template. It’s got a bunch of info to fill in that is needed by others to help you with this situation.
If you do decide to Euthanize:
I have no idea about clove powder. The next most humane thing I’ve heard is stunning and pithing, which I could never do. You basically take the fish out of water and wrap it in something, then slam it with a blunt object to stun it. You then have to cut a specific part of the brain or it will remain conscious for a long time out of water. Then you cut the head off. I could never do that, and as I have never please don’t take it from me. If you decide to use this method do more research elsewhere first. Honestly just order pure clove oil off of Amazon or something, it’s just the only way other than what I described above as I see.

The only recognized humane ways are clove oil or beheading. Clove oil can be found in Walmart near the scented wax melts with the aromatherapy oils. Some people choose to freeze, but it has not been recognized as being pain free. I would use the emergency template to get some ideas on treatment to ensure this is not curable first. There are many things that can lead to swim bladder issues and some can be successfully treated.

Hes not eating atm and just not looking good and barly swimming anymore and I feel like he's suffering and I just realized the tank mates are biting his fins off and he's not being able to swim much anymore :( (I didn't realize that you couldn't keep goldfish in a community tank before I brought him home) I feel so bad because I feel like he's suffering and I wanna cry because I don't want my pets to die and I couldn't hurt them and it just sucks because I don't know what to do

Decapitating is fast, its awefull but imagine what happens to sick fish in the ocean.
I dont know about clove powder, never heard of it. I was personally surprised how well clove oil actually puts them to sleep, I think its worth the trip to the pharmacy, or amazon.

It is sad when our pets get sick, somtimes the kindest thing we can do is help them go fast and painless. If you have tried everything, and he is still not eating, well this is what happened to my golden wonder killi, the first fish I used clove oil on. "I used it twice now."

Have you tried garlic enhanced food? thawed frozen blood worms? Making a hammock for the fish to stay up right? = just ideas,

I have used blood worms and won't eat them :/ never used the garlic and never used a hammock, how would you even make a hammock for the fish?

I use a glass with water in it and ice. It stops the fish breathing almost immediately so it is fast.

I would definitely try some other things to help him out. Euthanasia is the very last option.

I don't know what to do.. I don't have anything to make a fish hammock and I'm just not sure what to do or how to make him better

Would it be bad for me to put him into a smaller fish tank to try and heal him? On his own?

I think a different tank is the only option likely to help if it’s tankmates are biting his fins off to the point where he can’t swim. Depends how small, but at this point it’s probably okay to push tank size to treat him, and get a bigger tank to move him to as soon as you can and he is well enough to move.
