I've been needing a chiller as my tank has been staying at around 83, (enclosed system, so fans aren't really an option and I already run 6 fans that are attached to the hood… unfortunately they don't help much) so yesterday I finally found one and bought it. It's a JBJ artica 1/4 hp I believe, it's about $800 new and I found one that someone had only used for about a month and a half for $250!! I very carefully looked over it, and it looks extremely clean, there was no dust collected on it, and it looks brand new, so I was pretty happy with this find. Either way, I wiped down the exterior pretty good, I'm just wondering how I clean the interior. I have read that occasionally you should detach it from the tank and run vinegar through it, so I'm thinking that I may do that to clean the interior, I'm just wondering, should I mix up a vinegar and water solution, add it in, and then just run the hose outside through it? This is my first chiller, so I'm wondering what you guys might recommend for cleaning, as I will be running it year round. Also any other advice on them would be nice too if you can offer it.
