How to clean a dirty acrylic tank? Please help?

Hello!

I just got this 3 or 5 gallon acrylic tank today. It is in good condition except that there are a lot hard water residues.

How can I clean them off? Thank you!

PS: Ignore all of the stuff inside; I'm throwing it away.

Also make sure that anything you use doesn't scratch the acrylic. They sell scrubbing sponges just for acrylic tanks that won't scratch at the pet stores. Alison

So I just... Grab a paper towel (or unused sponge) and soak it in vinegar and rub or what? Sorry, Ive never done this before

I think from what I have been reading, soak the paper towel in white vinegar, lay the tank on it side and put the paper towel down on the inside of the tank over the area you want to clean an let it soak first to hopefully loosen any spots up . youwipe with the towel you may have to repeat .If you need to scrub then get an acrylic safe sponge from the pet store and make sure you don't use it dry. Acrilic scratches easier that glass. Good luck. Alison...Rinse really well and dry. Alison
