How to avoid fish "stealing" shrimp food?

As I understand it, shrimp can survive much on just eating algae, but still periodically it is useful to feed them.

But how to feed dozen cherry shrimp in nano tank with 6 endlers as tankmates? I imagine endlers will "steal" shrimp food instantly, won't they? Or is this not a real problem? What is your experience?

In my experience feeding a sinking pelletized food for shrimp and other bottom dwellers, then feeding flake or bloodworm immediately after will distract your midwater fish and give the shrimp time to eat. This has worked for me in the past, but experiment a bit and see what works!

 

If you get into a routine of feeding the endless inner side of the tank they will get used to it and come to that part every time you feed then as umnick said just drop shrimp pellets in and the thrive will find them,
The other and maybe better alternative is to drop shrimp pellets in at lights out ,the endless will leave them alone to eat

 

You can also supplement pelleted food with leaf litter and blanched vegetables. My fish don't take much of an interest in those but the shrimp love it.

 

I have a similar situation with an amno and a gluten of a betta. I just hold the wafer in with my finger. The betta can’t get a bite and hey, the shrimp might get on your finger too

 

Best bet is to feed at night. Or put in sinking food and distract your fish.
