Can you sort of break down what you’ve got in there? I’m not sure what I’m looking at in terms of hardscape, especially the dark stuff on the left in the picture.

Ah, okay. Couldn’t for the life of me see what the people hugging statue was, but now that you’ve pointed it out I can see it.
You could pick one item that you want to feature and build the tank around that. For instance, maybe make the statue more prominent by using plants around it that allow it to be seen clearly - place it a bit off center - and let the rest of the decor fade into the background a bit. And looking at the tank again, you could also do a ruined sculpture garden sort of idea. Give each piece a little space, put taller plants in between, let some shorter stuff grow in and around. If you have an idea to jump off from, something that appeals to you, start with that.

How's this for a thought.....
  1. take all ornaments out except for he black cave thing - bring it to the center of the tank in exactly the same way it is seated now. This will be the focus point of the tank (a bit like the main theme of a photograph).
  2. move all plants to the right of the tank (where you have the blue side background) and plant them from the tallest to the smallest starting from the back. They need to be planted and not just drifting about in the water. This will be the background and serve provide depth in the tank.
  3. leave the left side of the tank bare (nothing) except a flat layer of white sand. This will give you a beach effect and optically increase the size of the tank.
  4. move the thermometer to the left rear and out of front of the tank.
Hope you find a good idea for your tank - it is all a matter of taste and practicality

Well I took most of the hard scrape out. Kept the people (love it too much) and planted in a better arrangement

Your attachment didnt work, but I wouldnt put anything prominant exactly in the center...it will make your tank look smaller because everyone will look at the center and the sides will be lost.

Very pretty. Can you go on a hike and add some natural rock or driftwood to give some height and contrast? Where is your huggy sculpture?

It always helps to have tall objects with several focal points to look at. I would move the hugging statue to the center, just a little off center, if you know what I mean. Then leave some space infront of it clear so you can see it, and have the sides and back planted. Maybe some drift wood to look something like a tree in a back corner? And some moss on the "branches" and have that garden of eden look? That would look pretty.

Heres my 30 (bacteria bloom, so it's cloudy). Maybe have some ideas? I mainly work with natural stuff, but tall things help draw the eye and attention.

Oh, I noticed that donut coral thing you had. You can also tie java moss around that and eventually it can grow in around it and make a neat fish plant hoop to swim through.
