I'm looking to add 2 normal size sponge filters to my 180 gallon hoping they will help collect debri and fish waste between weekly cleaning/ water change. I did this on my little 27 gallon cube tank with a very small sponge filter and it does a great job. On the small tank I'm just running one of those whisper 10 pumps and it's plenty powerful. Wondering how much pump I'll need for the 2 full size sponges. Also, will running a larger pump make the filter more powerful? Anyone have experience with this?
