How Old Did Your Betta Get?

my betta Shadow has been with me for a year and a half now, and since I see there life span ranges from 2-3 years, I was wondering if anyone has kept there bettas longer than those 3 years...so the following is a poll:

 

A few have lived about a year... I have some really young ones, we'll see how long they live.

 

I raised one from birth that lived just over 5 years.
He spent his entire life ruling a 55.

 

I have 2 that are at least 2.5 now, and 2 more that are close to 2

 

I have one that has been with me for a year now.

 

I have had 1 for 2 years and another that is approaching 3.

 

I had one back before I knew anything about fish keeping that lived to be almost 6 in a 1 gallon vase.

Is 1 to 1.5 years within a normal lifespan for a betta?
