How often to test after cycled

My tanks been cycled for several months and I used to test before I did my water changes but recently have been slacking, is it okay to stop testing or how often should I be testing parameters? They were coming out normal after the tank cycled. I only have a single betta in 5 gallon filtered tank with two small plants. I do 25% water changes using a siphon every two weeks.

I would do WC's at least once a week. I'm bad with testing my tanks but I can usually tell if something is out of place ( at least I think I can ) You should test it once a month if you continue to do small WC's every two weeks IMO.

Generally, it's good to test once a week. For me, I test with test strips once a week, and with the Master Test Kit once a month. The strips aren't as accurate, but they're sometimes cheaper and do the job.

Also, be sure not to test right after a water change. It won't be accurate

If you’re new to fish keeping, you should test every week as part of the learning curve.

Some people with experience don’t do routine testing. Personally I only test when I have concerns. I do weekly WC (40%-50%) and substrate vacuum and maintain the filter every time I see it is needed, usually once a month or so.

Yes I should be doing the WC more often and it’s on my calendar so I’ve been trying just so busy lately to be honest.

Thanks I do have both because I got the strips before I got it cycled but realized I needed the master API, never considered just using the strips again, now I’ll definitely do that
