i feed my oscar tayo hi-red pellet food twice a day abt 35 pelets of these. is this fine or should i increase or decrease?? he is abt 4.5 inches
I was estimating the amount of pellets based on the type of pellets I use, Omega One Large Cichlid pellets.
Don't know anything about Tayo hi
red.
If the pellets are small grain, then the amount you are currently feeding is probably about right.
At 4.5 inches, the Oscar should be able to begin eating larger pellets.
Honestly can't really tell from looking at it.ya the pellets are like really small. i have so much left for abt 5 more months will buy bigger ones when this finishes

fair enough. but can u post pics of a underfed oscar and an overfed one so that i can compare??Honestly can't really tell from looking at it.
Here's my take on feeding. Basically if you underfeed, fish will have sunken bellies. Overfeed, and it'll start to expand and bulge. Imo if you feed whatever amount that keeps the fish' belly plump but not stretching, then that's the amount of feeding that's just right.
That's my take on fish feeding.![]()
