How much to feed corys

HI guys,
I have a 20 gal tank with a filter that can handle 30...my question is this. How many of the HikarI sinking wafers should I feed 2 adult corys and 2 jiviniles?? I was afraid I was feeding them too little because I had 3 of them spontaneously die over the course of 3-4 months but not at the same time. I was feeding them 1 tetramin tropical tablet per night. But then I added one more. Both tabs were always gone within 12 hours but I can't tell if they dissolved or were eaten as I noticed the tablet quickly coming apart into little flecks when dropped. since then I started to experience very cloudy water!!! Now I don't know what to do. My parameters are still all 0 with the exception of the nitrates which are 20-40. Prior to the addition of food the nitrates were at 5.

I also have guppies that I've seen down at the bottom eating the pellets! And trust me the guppies eat enough...there's always flakes that fall to the bottom. Help! I don't want to overfeed but I do want the corys to eat enough.

So first off a filter is judged by its gph not what the company said its meant for! Most filters that say they are for "x gallons" is actually smaller. What is the brand and model of the filter? A HOB for a 20 gallon should have at least a gph of 160.

Next, is this a 20 gallon long or high? Cories should be in a group of 6. What is the size of the tablet? Looked at it from Amazon but yeah, I think your previous cories died from starvation! 1 tablet for 7 cories is way too little. You should have fed at least 3 tablets! For the 4 right now I recommend feeding 2. I also suggest buying more of the same species cory and up it to at least 6!

I would say 3 pellets. Since the pellets are sorta big, 3 pellets will be enough. You might also want to buy them shrimp pellets to switch up their diet. That's what I do and my Cory catfish are thriving.

I have the same problem with the guppies. I guess they'll just learn, but I have no answer for that.

(Edit: I just realized Al913 answered earlier than me and answered your question, but I'll leave it here just in case.)

Nope never had 11 corys, the most I had at once was 6 with 3 of them being babies. Not sure where the 11 came from. I would say it takes around 4-5 HikarI tablets to match the size of one of the tetramin tablets. It doesn't tell me the size of the tablets. My filter is an aqueon quiet flow 30. It says 200 gph.

So with the 4 corys you have (suggest to get at least 2 more) you will feed 4 sinking wafers and the tetra mitablet you feed 2 or 2.5 . Just break the tablet in half! That is what I do to my algae wafers

In my experience with HikarI wafers, granted I use the sinking carnivore wafers (they're very similar), .5-1 tablet per cory is enough. My three aeneus' get one each and they're gone in minutes. My paleatus' are a smaller breed by nature so for the 4 I have left (A bacterial infection got the best of my youngest three) I give them 2, and the ones that are left are doing great. If they don't eat them in about half an hour, remove what's left. That very well may be where the cloudy water is coming from.
