How much salt has to be in the water for it to be considered brackish? I am really curious how little salt I can put in my brackish tank to make it "brackish".

I don't hsve the numbers, bit i do believe it is a certain amoint of salinity you need to reach to be considered brackish.

Technically anything between fresh and saltwater is "brackish," but I would consider a salinity of around 1.004 specific gravity to be where it begins to meet the needs of common "low-end brackish" species that cannot thrive in freshwater.

How much salt you need depends entirely on what fish you're keeping, some brackish fish are fine at 1.005 while some species need at least 1.015, etc.
