With 9 planted tanks, lights, plants, fish, frets, tanks, driftwood, filters, heaters, co2 systems, glass hoods its got to be close to 5-6 grand over the past five years. Thinking more forgot all the 3d backgrounds, cost of all the decorations and fake plants I had bought over the yrs 6-7 grand maybe more plus food!

Wouldn't trade it for the world!!

I'd have to say that I have spent around $500-600 on aquariums/everything else to do with it, and I'm not even 18 yet. Don't say "Ohh BS his parents get the stuff for him." NOPE!!! I work hard for every penny I make!!! (And it just so happens that every penny I make,... goes towards my aquariums )

Love this hobby!! Couldn't pay me enough to give it up!! (If you did, I would probably start this hobby again with the money I got )

Honestly how much money has everybody spent on there tanks??

I currently have three tanks (hoping to get a fourth soon ) and I've spent $1000 anyways, most of it over the last couple of months. I got a great deal on my 36g so I saved a lot of money that way.

MTS has really gotten ahold of me..

About 400+ in the last 2 months I have a 5 gallon and 10 gallon ( got second hand free) and my niece has a 29 gallon main and 7.5 QT that I take care of just spent over 100 this after noon setting up the 7.5 and moving my frogs to the 5 so I could add the 16 (was supossed to be 12) guppy fry I bought in the 10 and will probably spend another 50-75 next time I get paid planting the frog tank which currently only has 1 plant and buying deco for the 10 then I have to start decoing the 29

Probably at least $200, for 4 tanks. Two 10 gallons and two 5 gallons. They are my cheapest animal actually, as my hamsters have cost me over $1000, and I don’t even want to start on my two dogs
Plus an additional 100 hours on shopping and matinence.

When I get home from work I'll sit down and write up all my expenses. It's an insane amount though I have 13 tanks, plus a pond I'm setting up, plus smaller temp betta quarantine tanks (they're only in them for the first two weeks because I do 80% water changes daily during quarentine) I gave some away so I'm down to 6 of those. And kinda want to upgrade them at the end of the year anyways when I can afford it.

I've only been keeping fish since the beginning of this year

My best friend has already approved getting a few more tanks to do experiments with to further my research. Plus my dad wants to set up a large tank for the living room this winter. His tanks end up being my tanks XD he has 2 currently that I take care of

Can you tell I have MTS and a spending problem? XD

And I've spread this to my dad so now he's getting it as well LOL

I've spent around $200 on my 4 tanks. However, my 55 gallon and all its equipment were free. I also got my two 20 gallon tanks off Craigslist for dirt cheap.
That's not including the actually fish. Probably another $100 as I lost a ton before I knew what I was doing.

I have 60+ tanks .All running LED lighting and those with heaters have Aqueon Pros. I have over 40 Aquaclear HOBs,multiple sponge filters in each tank and about $400 invested in just 4 air pumps [I only use 2 of them now].
I hate to have to think what my idea of fun really cost me.

Do we have to add it all up. I had 6 55's a 75 and a 29 all running for many years. Currently only the 75 is running. For what I spent in the past 20 years I probably could of bought a new truck. When I set the 75 back up I spent about $600 on just decor and I had all the equipment already so expenses get scary just to think about and down right scary if you keep a running tab. Lol
