A very open question and very much dependable on how many tanks you have etc etc and Etc....but just an open question..how much do you feel you spend on your Fish per mo?? I'm very new to this and only have one tank (10g) and only 3 fish! 3 rosy red minnows. So far we've bought the tank (obv) , the 3 , .14 cent minnows, food obv, brine shrimp (frozen) , dried blood worms, and a few things that we needed to treat the water as needed after our water test, also water test strips and some small supplies. Seems every week we go to the local petsmart and purchase some new things Bought also tank fake plants and logs etc etc and gravel vac (gravel also obv. lol). So how about you guys? How much do you spend a mo. would you say (if this is not allowed pls remove!) thanks

I have to agree with this considering my growing arsenal currently consisting of 12 stocked tanks not to mention weekly LFS/LPS visits..

Aquariums are far more expensive than I would have guessed! I do the same - frequently on the weekends I pop over to the LFS to pick up something. Plus, it doesn't help my dogs have developed an affinity for fish food. I frequently check out plants... for a while there my tank was a disaster so that took about 6 weeks to get under control and a whole lot of $$.

Good thing fish are pretty.

Let's see, my puppy (11 months old) has already been through 1/2 a thing of betta pellets, a nearly full Tetra Baby Shrimp container, 1/2 a large thing of Tetra Cichlid Pellets, and flakes! That's just in the last 3 months and doesn't even include all of it he's spilled!

Friday my dogs ate a container of shrimp pellets, hikarI sinking pellets, some community pellets and my Omega One flakes. At least your dog is a puppy... he/she is still learning. Mine just like a good meal. I feel your pain. lol

BugattI Veyron, mwahaha.

Anyway, I spent all day yesterday dividing my betta's tank to make a separate side for the Sunkist Shrimp.

I spent a decent amount when I first set up my tank, but not anymore. I only have one 20 gallon which is pretty lightly stocked.

Never thought I would spend this much. Currently have 4 tanks - 40 fish, 20 shrimp, 20 snails plus plants, equipment and food. I think I am set for now. ("MTS")
Put it this way my fish live the good life. At least I have become a decent aqua gardener and can somewhat support my habit by trading some plants for supplies.

I have 9 aquariums currently and budget myself, I have meds, extra food, and most supplies on hand already. Monthly I spend about $15-20 on food! That's how much I spend unless I need other meds, get fish, new tank, etc.

But overall I've spent about 2grand on my fish no doubt! I've been in the hobby for ten years so maybe even more!c:

Dropped over 1M in fish supplies.
Just kidding, lol that would be insane!

Constantly wanting new fish.
I'm watching my 10 gallon before I go to sleep.

About $3.50 a month on water conditioner, and other than that it depends on if I'm making a new tank or if I'm just doing upkeep on my old ones.

Well since I buy water for my water changes, $10 a week would be $40 just for the water changes plus $6 for food and let's not forget about our electricity bill
