How Much Aeration For 55 Gallon Tank?

Hi.  I was just wondering how much aeration you all use in your tanks.  I have a 55 gallon tank and use two bubble wands, each are probably 8-9 inches long.  It seems like there are a lot of bubbles though, even though I have the pump turned down as low as it goes.  Should I get rid of one of the wands, switch to a different type of aeration or leave it as is??? Maybe I need a less powerful pump?

    Thanks for your help!! Onelovie

I have a 55 gallon, 2 bubble wands (curtains) and they cover almost the entire back of my tank. My fish LOVE playing in the bubbles :D I also have my air pump turned up all the way (I don't have a controller) and noby in the tank seem to mind. I have a freshwater community-everything from Plecos to Ghost Shrimp and snails.
