I have a 40 gallon breeder tank and i was wondering if 150 watts is enough to heat it to about 76 degrees.

well at night it can go down to 68 degrees in my room so i don't know how cold the tank would get. i have a 50 watt in there but that's not enough power.Depends how cold the room gets. 150W would be sufficient if the room doesn't get particularly chilly (like 10 or 20F below the set temp for long periods).
I agreeIf 68 is as cold as it gets 150w should cope ok however there's no harm in going a size up to 200w.
someone of offer up is selling a 150 watt heater for only 10 dollars that's why I was asking cause thats a huge deal. the heater i have now sucks and doesn't automatically turn on.If 68 is as cold as it gets 150w should cope ok however there's no harm in going a size up to 200w.
yeah I know, but like you said, might as well tryWell for 10 bucks you could give it a try. Bear in mind there might be a reason that it's so cheap.
