If you had all the time and money in the world... How many tanks would you set up and keep?

I’m simple, I think I would just want three. My current 20 gal. A 29 and a 40
Breeder. I would turn my 20 into a hospital/ quarantine if I had the other two

We all love the Fishkeeping hobby to some degree, and Multiple Tank Syndrome (MTS, this time it doesn't mean Malaysian Trumpet Snail) hits us all in some way. Whether we get the tanks or not.
I already have over 10 tanks but if I could I would have a tank for every species of fish in the world. The tank would be properly large enough as well. Who else here wanna see the 20 million gallon blue whale tank!

I would be set with these though:

- 50000 gallon pond (for arapaima, gar, red tail catfish, shovel nose catfish, Arrowana, ect.)
- 1000 gallon aquarium for MBU puffer
- 1000 gallon aquarium for general predators (Oscars, stingray, Jack Dempsey, Arrowana, ect.)
- 1000 gallon community tank (with assorted community fish)
- 1000 gallon (for a green moray eel, ect.)
- 75 gallon flowerhorn tank
- 100 gallon Oscar breeding tank
- 50 gallon Oscar fry grow out tank
- 20 gallon betta aquarium
- 75 gallon mudskipper tank
- 1000 gallon king crab tank
- 20 gallon crayfish aquarium

There are many more but this is what I am going to list.

I'd have a fish room if I could. Theres just so many species I adore and want to keep. Though many of them require species only tanks or I'd like to keep them that way.

I would settle for 1 if I could. Never can for some reason. 1 leads to 2 which leads to 3 which leads to 10.

I think I would be most happy with one big tank, but filled with dozens of different species of fish.

I'm sure you will. I vowed to only have one tank once upon a time. I currently have 6, and that's only due to space limitations lol

*edit
One tank = resisting multiple tank syndrome
Time is key ;)

Another reason I only chose three is because as much as I enjoy doing water changes and messing around with my tank, I don’t want my life to be consumed by tank maintenance

I currently have only a 10 gal. May be getting a 65 gal around June. Those will be enough for me, but having a 3 rd one would be nice.
In other words, 2-3 would be nice for me!

I have 12 tanks dispersed around my home. Most are small , largest I have is a 29 gallon for my aquatic turtle. I wish I had space for more large tanks, I wish I had a dedicated ‘fish room’ but I make it work :)

I would want as many as possible. Individual tanks for the color variations neo shrimps, zebra danios, and white clouds to start.
Problem is once you get over so many it becomes another job after awhile. I was up to 18 at one point ranging in size from 20 gallons to 75 gallons.

Yeah it is like another job when you have many tanks and it can get overwhelming quick! I was going to down size because I had 2 pt jobs and a possible promotion but now I don’t have any jobs for a while except my daughters school and caring for my pets...
